Practical Information for Italy Travel

We'd be happy to help you plan your adventure in Italy, so send us an email with your contact details. Meanwhile, here are some Italy travel tips to get you started. Also, be sure to check our refund policy for Italy adventures and get familiar with transportation in Italy.

Planning your Trip

Flying into Rome

  • Fly into Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO), the main international airport, or Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport (CIA), which serves budget airlines.
  •  If you are in a group, we highly recommend renting a car at the airport and taking the scenic drive to your lodgings.
  • If you take a train or bus from the airport,  we will pick you up when you arrive at the village.

Please do not book your transportation until we have confirmed your participation and payment.

The weather in June is glorious, with normally 10 hours of daily sunshine. Temperatures range from the low to high 70s F. , although with climate change, temperatures might be higher.  We will time your activities accordingly.

September and October are ideal for hiking and riding, with daytime temperatures ranging in the 70s and evenings in the 50s.

Pack Light and Casual:  Cotton/linen pants and easy dresses, a light down jacket for cooler evenings, hiking boots and comfortable shoes.  RIders,  bring your riding boots.

We depend on locals to assist with your adventures, and the level of accommodations we choose in small villages is limited.  We kindly ask that you respect our cancellation policy, which allows for sufficient notice if your plans change.  Please see the Terms and Conditions page for details.

There is a $200 non-refundable Registration fee.

  • 120 – 90 Days Advance Notice – Tuition Refund in full

  • 60 Days – Tuition Refund minus a $300 cancellation fee.
  • Under 60 Days - No refund
  • In the event of Covid travel restrictions, we will give you  a "rain check" on participation.
